Process Improvement - Web Cleaning To address reported issues with our dot matrix label stock, we sought out equipment that would help us to remove containments from the label surface and imrpove overall printability. This contact cleaning/tacky roll system was integrated into our rewind tables to remove small to microscopic particles down to 1 micron from the label sur- face. Flood coating the web with black ink showed a cleaning efficiency that was beyond our expectations. This 12" roller vacuum style construction helps to reduce waste, imrpove product quality and save production loss. Containments tend to attach themselves to the labels surface due to static electricity and moisture which require stringent cleaning tech- niques. Since implementing the web cleaners, we have seen huge improvements in the cleanliness of our label stock which has drastically reduced the potential for printing issues.
